Therme Bad Radkersburg / Austria: Resistance to Threatened Natural “Odors”

The spa at Bad Radkersburg, Austria is located in actual sight of the Austrian-Slovenian border and is currently entwined in a tricky situation: Only some 300 meters away from the spa facility just on the Slovenian side of the border, Slovenian business interests are planning to open a 13 hectare pig farm, an idea which is frankly causing a “stink” at Therme Bad Radkersburg that could continue for some time to come. The obvious consequence of this scenario would be a dramatic drop in attendance figures at the spa. According to reports, the Slovenian investors have generously (?) offered to sell the proposed pig farm property to the Austrians for a price most recently quoted to be in the neighborhood of 1.5 million Euros.
