USA: Universal Reveals More Details on Jimmy Fallon 3D Ride

Since the end of 2015, Universal Studios Florida is developing a new 3D attraction related to the popular “Tonight Show” presented by host Jimmy Fallon (c.f. EAP news from November 3rd, 2015): “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” is the name of the new ride, which – as Universal recently revealed to the public – is a flying theater with 72 seats.

In the queuing line, guests hang out in “Studio 6B” at New York’s Rockefeller Center, where the late-night show is produced. Besides original set props, a performance of the Ragtime Gals (Jimmy’s babershop quartett) and an encounter with Tonight Show-mascot “Hashtag the Panda”, visitors can try out interactive features such as the “Jimmy Drive” video game.

In the flying theatre, riders enter a virtual world at the side of Jimmy Fallon, with whom they start a race through the “city that never sleeps”. Passing by famous New York sights and landmarks, passengers will meet popular characters such as Sara from “Ew”, Jimmy in “Tight Pants” and Tonight Show announcer Steve Higgins. The background soundtrack for the attraction comes from the Grammy award-winning US band The Roots, the house band of the show. “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” is scheduled to open in spring 2017.
