Alison Gray Appointed Chief People Officer of Therme UK

(eap) Therme Group has announced the appointment of Alison Gray (pictured here) as Chief People Officer of Therme UK. In this role, Gray will be responsible for the people and culture strategy for all activities of Therme UK. The group’s first site in the United Kingdom is currently under construction with Therme Manchester. As of September 2025, the opening of the thermal destination is scheduled for the end of 2028.

Alison Gray brings extensive experience in international human resources management. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Human Resources at the New York-based entertainment provider Legends Global. There, she played a key role in building HR structures from the ground up and scaling teams across multiple regions. As Chief People Officer of Therme UK, Gray will oversee all aspects of the people strategy, including talent acquisition and retention, leadership development, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and organisational design. In doing so, she will work closely with the UK leadership team to further strengthen Therme Group’s position as an employer in the leisure and wellness segment.

“I am very excited to join Therme UK at such an exciting time. I look forward to working with the talented team here to foster a people-centred culture that supports growth, innovation and wellbeing for everyone who contributes to Therme’s vision,” Gray emphasises. Prof. David Russell, CEO of Therme UK, highlights the importance of the personnel decision: “People are at the heart of everything Therme stands for, and Alison brings exactly the leadership qualities and insights required to embed this philosophy in our UK operations. Her track record in developing inclusive, high-performing cultures aligns perfectly with our goal of creating places that are inspiring both to work in and to visit.”

In addition to Therme Manchester, there have also been plans for further Therme locations in Wales, Scotland and London, which are intended to build on the concept of the Manchester project. Internationally, Therme Group is working on thermal spa projects at various stages of development, including in Frankfurt (Germany), Incheon (South Korea), Toronto (Canada), Washington, D.C. and Dallas (USA), as well as Dubai (UAE). ■
