Endless Surf and Flowstate Launch Partnership with “The Mixtape”
Endless Surf and Flowstate launch a partnership and present their first joint development, “The Mixtape”, designed to deliver personalized waves for surfers of all experience levels.
(eap) Endless Surf, the surf wave technology brand of Canadian water slide and attractions manufacturer WhiteWater West, and Australian company Flowstate, provider of an AI-powered media and analytics platform for surf parks, have entered into a partnership to connect their respective technologies. The two companies are already presenting their first joint development: the AI-powered application “The Mixtape”, designed to deliver personalized waves for surfers of different experience levels.
The collaboration aims to create a more connected technology ecosystem for surf park operators as well as a more personalized experience for surfers. The partnership combines Endless Surf’s flexible and individually customizable wave technology with Flowstate’s AI-powered computer vision, media and analytics platform, which will be integrated into Endless Surf’s existing software suite.
The Mixtape is designed to allow groups of surfers to individually pre-select their preferred waves for a session and then receive them while surfing together. No wearables, RFID tags or manual interaction are required: surfers simply paddle into position, Flowstate’s technology identifies the individual surfer and the Endless Surf system delivers the previously selected wave type.
“The Mixtape brings together the two most advanced technologies in their respective fields to make an already unique Endless surf experience even more personalized,” said Paul Chutter, President of Endless Surf. “Surfers can share long rides with their friends and family while each getting the wave they want, and operators gain an entirely new session product they can offer their guests. After nearly two years of development, The Mixtape is the first example of what we can create by bringing these technologies together.”
“Surfing with friends and family usually means everyone needs to want the same type of wave, or you end up surfing separate sessions,” said Luke Wallace, CEO of Flowstate. “The Mixtape changes that. Each surfer selects their wave, the technology identifies them as they paddle up, and Endless Surf delivers it […] The whole process happens seamlessly in the background, wave after wave.”
Endless Surf’s wave technology celebrated its world premiere in spring 2024 with the opening of O2 SURFTOWN MUC in Munich (see our cover story in EAP 4/2024). Two further Endless Surf installations are now operational in Saudi Arabia: one as part of Adrena, the new modern tourism destination on the Red Sea (see EAP News of 25 Feb 2026), and another at the new Aquarabia Qiddiya City water park, which entered its opening phase in March this year. Further Endless Surf projects are currently under development in locations including London (Surf London), Florida (The Point Surfpark), Brazil and Mexico. ■
