PortAventura to Launch VR Attraction from Zero Latency

(eap) As a separate LBE attraction outside the park, Spain’s PortAventura World will soon introduce a new Virtual Reality experience, available as of 18 September this fall. Located at the park’s northern parking lot (next to the “LaLiga TwentyNine’s” restaurant), the VR experience is currently being implemented in collaboration with Australian VR systems provider Zero Latency. Guests aged 13 and older will be able to immerse themselves in 30- to 60-minute adventures in virtual worlds – various game titles will be available for selection.

The VR system to be used is a wireless free-roam solution in which the participants (max. eight people at a time) can move freely in the virtual world. All what will be needed is a VR headset and controllers for each player to interact in the virtual world.

The Zero Latency VR experience is another novelty that PortAventura has in store for guests this year. Only recently, the highly anticipated “Uncharted” ride, which combines a roller coaster with a dark ride experience, was opened. Read all about the attraction, implemented by manufacturer Intamin in collaboration with Sally Dark Rides, in our upcoming Sept/Oct magazine issue. ■
